BHS cheerleaders set to host Chieftain Classic

The Bellefontaine High School cheerleading team will host the first-ever Chieftain Classic on Saturday, February 4th.

The cheerleading competition starts at 10:30 a.m. in the BHS main gym.

Doors open at 10 a.m. You’re asked to use the cafeteria doors (fairgrounds side).

Last month, the Chiefs won the OAC State Cheer competition.

The Bellefontaine squad will perform Saturday at noon.

Team members for the Chiefs include: Harper Penhorwood, Corbin Baker, Mia Oppy, Belen Abrego, Brianna Kindle, Hailey Coyer, Ava Kunze, Ella Kuba, Lexi Yoder, and Lauren Valdez.

Bellefontaine is coached by Alysia Kuba and Andrea Simon.

The Chiefs will be an exhibition only, while the other high school teams will compete.

The Logan County Braves will hit the floor at 11:45 a.m.

The Chieftain Classic will also feature live screen printing from Hi-Point Graphics and concessions, including Chick-fil-A.

Admission is $8. Credit cards will be accepted at the door. Cash will NOT be accepted for admission.

Bellefontaine will compete in a national qualifier at Dublin Jerome on February 26th.

The Chiefs are hoping to advance to the national meet in Florida.
