SUMMER: Balancing Fun, Freedom, and Safety!

Parents can help keep kids safe this summer:

  • Be Aware that risky behaviors increase over the summer
  • Discuss Dangers of risky behaviors and substance use with kids
  • Establish summertime rules and boundaries
  • Monitor Whereabouts

Summer Schedule FREE EVENTS- JUNE 7th through AUGUST 13th

  • Neighborhood Clean Up – Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10:30 a.m.-11:30 am
  • Summer Food Program - Monday through Friday 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m.
  • Movie Time - Mondays 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. (based on movie times at Republic Theater)
  • “Nutrition Program” – June 8th, July 6th and August 10th from 1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m.
  • Swimming at Hoffman Pool- Wednesdays 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
  • Park/Field Trip Day - Thursdays 1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.
  • Bowling at TP Lanes - Fridays 1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.

CAMP BRAVEHEART:

Free camp for students that have experienced the loss of a loved one.  In addition to the many camp activities that Marmon Valley Farm has to offer, campers also participate in small group discussions, healing art activities, and remembrance services.

In celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month, Mental Health America (MHA) is sharing practical tools that everyone can use to improve their mental health and increase their resiliency.

BLESSING BOX:

Please let us know if there is something we can help with over the summer!
"Take what you need, give what you can"

"GIVE": Students and families may donate items to the Blessing Box

-Items Needed: canned or boxed food, toilet paper, laundry detergent, shampoo, soap, tooth brushes, tooth paste, deodorant, cleaning supplies, feminine hygiene products

-Please consider donating items small enough to fit in student backpacks

"TAKE": Students and families may receive needed household supplies and food items:

-Fill out the Blessing Box Form (click on link)

-Mrs. Collins or Mrs. Kurtz will send items home as they are available

Tuesday, August 17th: FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS

September 15: Picture Day
