The Bellefontaine middle school girls dominated the Lost Creek Invitational placing first out of 11 teams and placing 5 girls in the top 10 overall. Grace Brown led the way finishing as the individual champion in a field of 60 runners. Also in the top 10 were Callie Shumaker in 5th, Keira Manahan 7th, Harper Penhorwood 8th, and Hailee Lamb 9th. Hannah Wilson finished in 25th and Isabel Beck 38th for the Chiefs.

The Bellefontaine middle school boys placed 5th out of 13 teams at the Lost Creek Invitational. Hayden Maus and Jake Moreland led the way for the Chiefs finishing in 8th and 10th overall in a field of 140 runners. Rounding out the top 5 for the Chiefs was Van LaFolette in 29th, Brenden Murray in 43rd and Brandon Wong in 70th. Also finishing for the Chiefs was Cody Hudson 74th, Josias Robles 78th, Jake Christen 85th, Zerek Longbrake 88th, Oliver Grandstaff 96th, Will Myers 99th, and Alex Johnson 107th.
The Chiefs run next at the Celina Invitational on Saturday.


The 8th grade Lady Chiefs volleyball team grabbed another win on the road at Graham winning 25-4 25-3. Zoey Connor sparked the chiefs with 2 kills and 2 aces while Maddie Ullom and Elliett Lang tallied a combined 4 aces. Marly Coons and Madi Zedeker led the offense with 9 Aces and 9 Assists, connecting with Kelsie Snapp for 7 kills. The Chiefs are on the road again Wednesday when they travel to Indian Lake.


The 7th grade lady Chiefs earn their second win of the young volleyball season in straight sets over the Graham Falcons 25-18 and 25-14. Defensively, the Chiefs received solid passing from Kahana Dixon, Sophia Jacobs, and Ella Fultz. Ava Layman and Rylee Yelton each tallied kills while Layman led the team with 8 aces. The Chiefs return to action on Wednesday at Indian Lake.
